State Championship Football 2015

November 21st, 2015

For the kids, and for me, it's all about the night like last night.  One night.  For the all the marbles.  All in.  The past three months have been watching teams grow, rise, fall, and fight their way to the top.  But what I saw last night, particularly in the Kahuku and St. Louis game, was just short of one of the most epic battles I've ever been a witness to in my 10 years of shooting high school football.

Photographically, it wasn't the best.  Rain. Penalties.  Runs up the middle.  A pile of bodies.  It's Kahuku, after all.  Oh, and rain.  Did I mention, rain?  But just witnessing the prolific offense of St. Louis just shut down like that was pretty unbelievable.  From my past experiences earlier in the season, the Crusader offense would just turn it on, and turn it on.  Alas, last night, I was on the wrong side of so many interceptions by the Kahuku defense.  But that's just how it goes sometimes.

Like I said, photographically, it wasn't the greatest.  But I'll share some of my favorites from last night's clash of the titans.  On an equipment side-note, evidently Canon's 1-series body seals and weather resistance isn't TOTALLY so.  The LCD on one of my cameras just stopped working.  No chimping!  Hey, kind of like back to the film days, baby!!!  Anyway here's a little snippet of my rainy, wet night at Aloha Stadium.  Enjoy.  And cheers to the conclusion of another season of high school football....
